Hi, I have a question..

In my project Im using ACL and Flexicontent, and I have one user group, specific for do changes in just one category.

I can force in "new item" to use just one item type, and insert just in one category, but in the "item list view (backoffice)" this group can view and edit all the items in the website.

Is possible hide the categories and items for that group?

Hello

-- you can limit a user-group to create specific item TYPES
"create items" ACL in content type EDIT FORM

-- you can limit "create" in specific categories

But
whatever a group can edit in frontend can also edit in backend

Yap, I send some printscreen of the "problem"

Only I miss this detail.

SOLVED: In each category, permissions individually, I setup what that group of users can do. They can see, but cant change state or edit.

hi there,

i think i'm having the same question, so allow me to post into this old thread:

I have users in usergroup UG. Usergroup UG is a child group of usergroup 'Public'. Usergroup UG has a user called U.

[what i need]
- In /administrator/index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=items User U can /see/ only articles in "his" categories, meaning categories he may edit in.

[what already works]
- User U can create, edit, delete etc. only articles in the correct categories.
- User U can create only the correct types

[what does not work as expected]
- In /administrator/index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=items User U can /see/ all articles (even though some aare not editable/clickable)

I did not work with Access Levels here yet, meaning all articles have AL 'public'.

[my setup]
FC 3.0.7
J 3.4.3 Stable [ Ember ] 2-July-2015 16:00 GMT

I did read page like:
magazine.joomla.org/issues/issue-may-201...Configuring-back-end
and it did help in general, but above FC-view is my hopefully last problem here :)
best regards, kath

Hello

by default Joomla article manager and FLEXIcontent do the same

- they list items that are "viewable"
aka if an item can be view by the user in frontend then, it is listed in backend (of course they will not allow editing if no privilege)

but FLEXIcontent has parameter to list items (component parameters / Backend managers TAB)
- if having view access (default ON)
- if in editable categories: (default OFF)

so disable "if having view access"
and enable "if in editable categories"

NOTE: per item --atomic-- editablable is not considered, so if an item is marked manually as editable or uneditable for a user,
this will NOT effect the listing

Wow, enabling "List items in editable (main) categories" did the trick, great, thanks a lot for this feature! :D
(i was only looking for that in "permissions", but it makes sense to find it under "backend managers" since "permissions" seems to inherit from or mimick joomla.)

that really helps building a great backend, great work, guys!
