Question about Child/Parent Categories Assignment

Hi There,
in my site I use category for geolocalization like this parent child relation: country-region-city

If I clicked on region it was not showing in the page the elements of the child categories, even if they where counted inside the ( ) next to the link.

So to do a fast thing I assigned with a script to every article also the parent categories country and region.

This was a rapid solution to fix the thing, but I am pretty sure there is a more correct way to automatically show items in their parent category
Do you know how?

did you display all item in parent categorie ? (in parent categorie, item list tab, display all sub categorie)
the best way to achieve this is to use field => 1 country, 1 region, 1 city in same item

You mean I should add fields in the article? Can you maybe give me a screenshot?

I want this: I have 3 categories: Granpa Mother and Son

If I have an article in Son I want it to be listed and showed both in Granpa and Mother
