Apply FlexiContent on one category (and its subcategories)

FlexiContent is perfect for a client's need - but only in one category.

I would like to use standard joomla content management for all but a specified category (and its sub categories). For the specified category FlexiContent is exactly what is needed.

Can I apply FlexiContent to only on category? ...and the subcategories under it?

Hello

you can not do this

but there is a feature that can help get close to this
- in types manager you can select to allow Joomla article view for some types, ... and it is by default allowed for "article" type

the above will prevent Joomla article view from being replaced by FLEXIcontent article view

for category view , all your Joomla category view menu items will continue to work without change

Please read my answer above

a comment
- what you suggest was asked by several other, and it was partly implemented, (and it was possible in J1.5)

but it would create 1 more big CORE work case to do ,

we have spent too much time working on CORE functionality:
- workflow
- performance
- backend UI
- various ...
- item/type/category form speed (v3.0.15)

need to spend time on more "sellable" "visible" value, that is partly done
- include new modular Frontend template (finished)
- finish endless scroll (50%)
- finish per type reviews (50%)
- finish configuration export / import (70%)
- Non-content TYPES (not related to com_content types) not having any field as required
- other ...
