maybe
1 an slider for plupload uploader (hide and show upload zone)
2 maybe display images in a slider 2
=> all slider can be be close

the uploader can now be displayed inline (not on github repository yet),

i think show 1 uploader per image field value
- or show only 1 uploader to create and populate many field values

Uploader can be shown in popup.
But images list tab should be replaced. See my previous post with images.

no option but you can add a light css code in custom.css in isis template

About the multiple values per line should have been the default , but
... we had some issues that new version fixes

Fixed drag-drop ordering in item form:
- no jumping,
- no scale-like wrapping,
- no content wrapping during dragging

So will make it default, and also change parameter "Field container" to be:
- cleared (1 image per line)
- floated (many images per line)

Also will revise popup to have uploader in 1st TAB, and rename them:
"Upload new files"
"List existing files"

maybe there should be an option for hidding this too
since we allow to hide all other optional properties

I do not remember exactly why an option was not added for this, maybe because it was only taking vertical space
