Hello

you are thinking of the "category selector" parameters,
which exist in filtering module

Currenly all categories , use the "categories filter" configured in the "Category filter"
which indeed it is rather limiting !

so you suggest that the "category selector" parameters,
existed in category view(s) too ... ?
so that they replace / override the display given by the "Categories filter" ?

I use filter in parent category.
I believe users should have ability to filter via subcategories too.
May be I mistaking, but it seemed to me that earlier in the categories there was a filter by categories.

Because, several months ago I asked you to replace category selector right in text box.

Yes, I found it:

www.flexicontent.org/forum/20-general-su...xt-search-field.html

First screenshot displays category selector in category filter. How to enable it?

Hello

the category selector parameters , only existed in FILTERING module,

- they do not exist in category configuration
- in category configuration , you can go to the "Field filters" Tab and inside it add the "Categories filter" ...

so i was asking you
1. if you meant the category selector parameters , of the ... FILTERING module,
2. and if those parameters would be useful / needed in category view, because i recognize that the "Categories filter" has the same display and configurtion in ALL categories, which may not be desirable ...

No, Georgios.
1. I mean category selector parameters for each category in category parameters for filter, that displays in categories.

Now, if we using Category field for filtering, we can't choose Root category for different categories.
Explain.

For example we have Parent categories and subcategories:

New auto
-BMW
-AUDI
-OPEL

Used auto
-BMW
-AUDI
-OPEL

If we use category filter (not module) users can't filter by child categories.
It possible only in filter module.

So, we should copy this parameters from module to category filtering tab:

Thanks.
