FlexiContent from SVN was created by kursus
Hi there,

I'm trying to install Flexi v2.0 but get a white page after install.

Process :

- J! 1.7 fresh install
- Download and build Flexi v2.0 svn
- Install component
- white page

Is this normal ? Is there some kind of way to get a Flexi >1.5.5 to work ?

The reasons I want to do this are testing new features and getting rid of poor performances randomly happening with Universal Module (I'm currently running 1.5.5 version).

Thanks a lot

You are downloading and installing code which is still under heavy development.
Read the SVN Changes log.
Pay particular attention to comments noting known issues and items noted as needing further attention.
It is a work in progress.

Yes, it is quite normal for pre-release development code to break stuff and/or not work properly.

The beta 1.5.6 is very stable, (except maybe some bugs in the new features). I strongly suggest testing with 1.5.6 beta

And it has a couple of more features than FC 2.0.
And it is performance optimized.

About FC v2.0, it is 95% usable ... 95% of this work ..., and has some new features (e.g. from today it has a very flexible-customizable Alpha Index, THANKS to kenmcd2003 that pointed all the features needed), but so will 1.5.6 maybe today ...

Regards

Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite having a long list of functions) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Thanks ggppdk,

What you call 1.5.6 is 1.6 beta r647, right ?

Call I can't find anything else than 2.0b in the trunk.

The version of FC v2.0 for J1.6/1.7, you installed is very OLD.
There is no public download package because, we cannot support something so heavily developed YET.
Soon, within month there will be a USABLE public beta

Now you can:
1. extract from SVN (install some svn software):
svn checkout flexicontent.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ flexicontent-read-only

2. zip the folder com_flexicontent_v2.x

3. install by joomla installer

Current ver is very usable but it can break on any update, (As kenmcd said)

Also FIRST try on a clean joomla installation with no other plugins / components, then try on a joomla installation with more plugins and components.

Best Regards

Yeah when I talked about v2.0 in my first post it was the version I just got from the svn. My mistake was using the build.xml file to build the package (and so compiling a bad version).

But when you say

I strongly suggest testing with 1.5.6 beta

is this the same version ?

note : I perfectly get the risks of using a beta/developpement/etc version.

Thanks a lot
