Disable FlexiContent on some Existing Articles

Hi,

I'm wanting to build a small application inside my J!2.5.6 install, inside an existing website.

I don't need FlexiContent to manipulate any of my existing articles as I have them set up a specific way and migrating I think may be a bit of a hassle.

Is it possible to disable FlexiContent on only certain categories or menu items? That would then allow me to create a new type and apply this to only a particular category?

Cheers - Geomac

Hello,
this has been discussed extensively before theoretically, it is possible to implement, but it currently this is not supported, and would require changing a lot of files,

maybe it will be done in a future version

Regards

Hi,

Depending on what you want to achieve something like Zoo or Sobi is better for you, because those components leave com_content alone. FlexiContent takes over the handling of ALL article items!

This maybe added in v2.1, but for sure will not be supported in v2.0

If this important to you,
you could use FLEXIcontent v1.5.6 for J1.5 or use some other CCK

About using FLEXIcontent with all Joomla articles, i understand that a main issues are:
-- (a) an existing template/styling that you have and want to use
-- (b) need for changing ALL existing com_content menu items to be com_flexicontent menu items so that your existing module assigned will continue to work,
next public package will have this automated ... and when uninstalling the menu items will be converted back to com_content
