Getting 500 errors for non existent pages instead of 404

Hi there

Looking at my Google webmaster account, I have found that Google is reporting too much 500 errors for my website ( www.mmcedizioni.it , Joomla 2.5.8, com_flexicontent_v2.0_RC9b_r1601.zip, standard SEF routing). Trying to investigate more, I have found that those urls are old ones that Google should see as 404 (not found), instead of getting 500 (unreachable or blocked).
Hereafter a couple of urls having that issue:

1) www.mmcedizioni.it/it/catalogo-libri/cat...eggo.html?module=114

2) www.mmcedizioni.it/product_info.php?products_id=29

The first one seems to be strictly related to flexicontent. The second is not directly related to fc, but, if I'm not wrong, now fc routes also normal content to be managed by fc component.

Could someone help me to address the solution? Is that one a problem due to something wrong in site configuration, or is there another reason?

I would like to solve it very soon, to avoid losing Google positioning.

-- There was a similar report some time ago with error 500 instead of not found 404 HTTP server error, and we fixed in r1619

the problem is that we use JError::raiseError () to raise the error and terminate execution, but it seems that recent updates of J2.5 no longer terminate on it, thus the code execution continues giving other unexpected errors

There is no public package yet, will be very soon

Nothing to say about you GREAT job... I'm posting here just to push a relevant (at least for me) question that is bringing my website users to leave immediatly the website itself after getting that error, wasting a lot of working time invested to get better positioning
May be that performance could be better trimmed after a "middle-age, important issue solving" release? :

Also what could we do that we do not do, for a free component? while at the same time making a living ?

The problem is caused because J2.5.x made a change that was supposed to happen in J3.0

But I need to avoid further misunderstanding: I don't like to bore people working so respectably like you do.
I never said you makes nothing for the Community, neither I asked you to loose time for me.
The problem arised from the fact I'm really getting so many errors. I made & daily maintain a website for our own book-publisher activity, also working for free. Starting from the J 1.5 -> J 2.5 upgrade, made 3 weeks ago, I have accumulated more than 3.000 Google links related to 500 errors (yes, really): many pages have different URI due to the different way Joomla & FC works for SEO between versions, and this small bug is a nightmare, in my case.
From a statistical point of view, I have seen that no one receiving a 500 error goes to the home page and looks for the content previously searched in Google: simply leave the site. In my opinion, solving this is more important than having a, lets say, 5% performance increasing in efficiency
And as last thing to say, is there a way to contribute to your work? I'll be glad to help you in someway.
