HELP | REVIEWS

I have a client that wants to add reviews to each item.

Anyone can suggest me the best approch?

the requirements and purpose analysis of this, was already discussed in another thread ... so we already know a good way to add this to FLEXIcontent

1. It is possible to add a "review" content type that is related to other content types via the relation field,

2. ... and this will give us powerful reviews (just you should customize the content type to hide things like alias, etc) PLUS fully configurable listings of reviews inside the each reviewed item ...

3. We do not have: an one-click automated process for submitting[/b], (explanation)

-- We create a relation field to relate the Content types, this relation field will be named "Review for"
and we need:

a. the relation field besides listing items will also display a button "submit CONTENT TYPE" (in our case CONTENT TYPE is named "Review")
-- an access level will be required for user to be able to click this, e.g. public access level, e.g. Registered Access level)
-- when button is clicked, a new item form for CONTENT TYPE "Review" will be opened

b. the relation field should be AUTO-SET to the item the user was viewing and it will EITHER be "hidden" or just displaying:

Reviewing: item title (of item that user was viewing)

c. We need to add a limitation / check to allow a user to submit ONLY one ITEM of type "review" per related item

OMG great. I will let you know how it works IF we decide by this approuch.

i think that 80% of work to implement this can be done inside the relation field and 20% in item form and controller


Just cannot do before J3.x support,

so for your current site you should
- either find another alternative
- or implement this changes yourself in relation field and in item form/controller,
you could even use a joomla template override,

but note that even if you contribute code , we cannot integrate to CORE now
