[Handled in r1858] Duplicate items created when double-click

I know that this is unusal(human error) but this already happened a few times(happens in both SAVE and SAVE&CLOSE).
If user double-click(triple-click, maybe I should say multiple click) for Form Submission, duplicate items are created.(Tested on R1857)

I guess this happens because it takes a little while for the server to process after submit a form(first click).

Please make sure not to allow resubmitting the form by clicking the button again.
Maybe add Double-Click Protection(jQuery) in item submission form(edit form as well) by disabling submit button after first click and display and image, for example ajax-loader.gif.

Hello

ok, but this should be done only if form validation is successful,

this is an issue so we fixed, by:
hiding the buttons and displaying a message with a spinning wheel,

- you may test in r1858+

just maybe the message displayed "form submitting" is not appropriate when clicking cancel, so maybe message should be changed

Installed R1861,
Form is not getting submitted after clicking the submit button.
All buttons are hidden and displaying message "Form is being submitted, please wait ..".

But the form doesn't get submitted, still on the same page.

Hello

you are not using a joomla template override for the form.php , right? (just asking to make sure)

will re-test this, as soon as i have my development PC working again
