import / update file was created by tonnick
Hello

just an easy question, is it possible to update items via import file function ? If I use ID, it detects it and refuse to update the item(s) and if I put same title, it just create a new item (duplicating the existent one). Would it be possible to update the items using import file function ? or did I miss somthing ?
thx for your help !

Hello

i don't remember if it was used, but this was discussed before,

1. updating existing items is not supported

2. we recognize the usefulness of this, and this is planned for v2.3.0 or v2.4.0

if you want this sooner, then you or another developer may fork us on GitHub and implement it and then make a pull request

i expect (for me) this to be 1 or 2 full days of work including testing, for others it maybe more or less (if they choose not to do it 100% properly)

Here is a new enhancement issue:
github.com/FLEXIcontent/flexico ... /issues/71

hello ggppdk

thx for your fast answer.

yep, a complete function of export/import/update would be great ! unfortunatly, I am not a developer, but I can help to test if needed.

FLEXImport is a paid component for that
import export tools by type
XML
json
CSV
Cron option
mapping value
etc

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

hello miker,

yes I saw this option, but to be honest, I usually prefer use the original component if it's possible for all reasons we know (compatibility/upgrade/user experience/etc).

this is why I asked it ;) if import/export/upgrade will be integrated sith flexicontent, I'm happy :)
