Text field - How to accept numbers only

I have a text field for a price in a front end item form and I do not want the user to be able to input anything except numbers.

When I add the 'Currency' Value Validation Mask, the user does not get an error if other characters are put in and when the item saves, the field is blank.

Is there a way to verify the field either as the user is inputting info or after they submit and have an error appear?

Per attached photo, I have the mask set to Currency, I also tried Integer, neither showed any sort of error

I'm only seeing this one related to Google Maps, but it hasn't seemed to affect anything else on the site

can you remove i to be sure (for exclude conflict)

I removed the map field and modules, but the price field still doesn't give a validation error when letters are entered

Just wondering if there's any update on this issue?

and i cannot replicate it
does it happen in both frontend and backend ?

i see that this file is not being loaded in the page

librairies/inputmask/jquery.inputmask.bundle.min.js

thus the client side "currenct " masking for the input will not run
