Default layout for item type

Hi flexigurus,
I frequently face this issue and I never know how to solve it.
I have a category and an item type for which a user template is set as default.
Whenever I create an item of this type and in this category, it's the Flexicontent default template that comes out in the frontend and not my user template. If I set my user template at the item level (although the default is referred correctly as my user template) then it works correctly.... Which means that I have to set manually the very same template as the default one for each item (which is not recommended says the warning).
Any clue?

can you post message error, and config ?

There is no error. It's just the wrong template that comes out.
What kind of config do you need?

config of type template part and maybe a link to see problem ?
