FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

Go to Joomla plugin manager and select Type "editor-xtd" , then verify that the button (plugins) that you need are enabled.

It is irrelevant to your problem, but i want to mention that, in later revision the CSS of these buttons for the frontend form is fixed, so that they do not appear broken in the frontend form.

Regards

Thank you. The plugins were all enabled already as on every standard installation.

I would say to check the item type to see if you have disabled the appearance of HTML editor, but i see a button there, so could this be an issue with the configuration of JCE , you use JCE , right?

Anyway also check the item type to see if you have disabled the appearance of HTML editor.

Thanks for the hint. I didn't change anything. This is a fresh installation and the item type is the standard article that comes with FC. "Hide Html Editor" is set to "No". I dont think those buttons have anything to do with the editor. As I said I tried every editor "no", "MCE" and "Code-Mirror" in different browsers, there is no differnce, the buttons dont show up.

in textarea.php (yes this file since recent revisions creates the description field)

find all lines:
..., '100%', $height, $cols, $skip_buttons_arr, $field_idtag ) ;
and
..., '100%', $height, $cols, $skip_buttons_arr) ;
and
..., '100%', $height, $cols, '' ) ;

replace them with:
..., '100%', $height, $cols, $rows, $skip_buttons_arr);

Those modifications brought the buttons back! Thank you!

Just because the screenshot is already in that threat: Is it possible to display the Permissions field underneath the description field?

Description field if produced by a foreach, you can create a joomla template override of views/item/tmpl/form.php (frontend) or a duplicate template views/item/tmpl/default.php inside tmpl (backend) and then use and if statement to place it

since there can be changes to these files by final version and as a result your copied files may not be up to date, maybe avoid it ...
