problems getting notifications to work[J1.5 FLEXIaccess grp]

On our site, registered users can post content (job offers and events) without an admin reviewing their content prior to publication but of course admins must be notified whenever content is added or modified this way. In Flexicontent's configuration (dashboard -> configuration) I enabled notifications. I enabled and configured them in the categories and in the types but not a single notification is being sent.
I thinkt this is an issue conntected to the fact that the content is not subject to prior review and it's published immediately. But precisely because these articles are published without an admins' review we need to be notified. Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

Can you please tell with which version you are working?

Same question ... joomla and FLEXIcontent version ;)

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

Ooops.... sorry ...:
Joomla is 1.5.26 and FlexiContent is version 1.5.6 RC9b (r1601)

I just realized that the problem is even more severe: Flexicontent does not send any notification by itself at all. The only notification I get is when someone that may not publish klicks on the "approval request" button.
Is that only on my installation or is this a known problem?

Notifications of r1601 have been tested, this is most likely a misconfiguration issue.

e.g.
You mention Global configuration, these setting are always overridden by settings in each Content Type, did you check there is notification are disabled ?

configurations are enabled and configured in every single spot they could be: global, type and categories. Right now FC should send a notification in some categories and types at any possible occasion to a FlexiAccess group (see attachment) (or to Joomla admins or to a single user (tested all three of them)) but on my machine (neither live nor testing server) nothing happens at all.

Try using a Joomla user group as Target (receivers) of email notifications, e.g. super administrators

Thank you. This seems to work fine. Problem partially solved.
Why doesn't it work with FlexiAccess-groups? Is this a known problem or is it some wheird thing just on my server?

It should work , it was tested , in fact our initial thought was not to support FLEXIaccess groups since we are moving more to using J2.5, but we added them

The reasons for not sending emails is most likely that (wrongly?) it is determined that there are no users for the FLEXIaccess group or no email assigned to them?
