Hi there,

In the frontend I'm using the Joomla blog category view, because the Flexicontent view does not exactly do what I want. I have several items with the General category, which in the frontend, appear with another completely different category. The problem is that I do not want them to be seen in the blog view. I've tried using different templates.

Joomla version: 3.8.8
Flexicontent version: 3.2.1.14

Regards.

your item is many category ?
flexicontent blog view is powerfull what is the problem ?

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

The item is classified only in the main General category, but appears in the frontend in another that is not part of the same category tree of the General category.

Hello

In the frontend I'm using the Joomla blog category view,

i am not sure how you can hide them from Joomla blog category view
the problem is that the filtering (exclusion) of them would need to occur via the SQL query
and we have no control over it

if you would use Flexicontent category view, i could suggest various ways, e.g. adding an extra custom field
"show in blog view" and then using "locked" (hidden) filtering inside configuration of the category

Hello

I want to show the latest news in the form of a blog and with links to the subcategories. I have not found a way for Flexiconent to respect the permissions of the Access Manager Pro component:
www.pages-and-items.com/extensions/old-e...ions/access-manager/

Regads.

I do not understand the reason why an item that belongs to the "General" category in the backend and the database appears in another category that depends on another category tree.

Hello

main category
- is used to calculate ACL
- it is the category that Joomla category / article view will use

An Flexicontent item that belongs to multiple categories
will appear in all of them
that is the reason that multi-category assignment was created for

Secondary category do not use any ACL rules
but they still use access levels,
so in your case you can make the secondary categories non-viewable
(if that is what you need)

Access Manager uses user groups. Different groups of users can access a category, but others can not. For that reason, this ACL is not viable for us.

Hello

you can achieve proper viewing access by creating enough access levels and assigning them to desired usergroups

- Just name every Access level appriately
- Assign 1 or more Access levels to desired usergroups

If you cannot achieve the same result as with usergroups,
then it means that you need more fine grain control of access level, meaning you should create more access levels and possibly more usergroups
