Breadcrumb issue: category link added

Hi,

I do not know if this is FC related, but if I have a link to a category view the parent category is added to the breadcrumb path. Here
www.muenstermann.com/en/clean-ai ... ology.html
Clean Air Technology is a FC category menu link but in the breadcrumb path "Products" is added which is the parent category of the clean air category. So, the category is added even though a menu link to the subcategory is added!

PS: Oh I forgot, clicking "Products" shows nonsense. The bad thing is that Google put the link in its index...

Open the MENU ITEM (in the menus) and there is a breadcrumb configuration. You need to specify PER MENU ITEM. Easy mate.

Puh. I think easy is something different...

First why has the standard Joomla behaviour changed? There is no reason why a category name is added if there is a clear menu structure. Especially not if the category is nowhere linked to a category view on the page. Again, clicking on the "Product" link in the breadcrumb shows nonsense contents and this contents is indexed by Google because the link is there.

Second, to get rid of the "Category" I have to change every menu item that points to a subcategory manually. But if I do this, I have to adapt ALL menu settings to the wanted behaviour because changing the menu link settings overwrites ALL the other default or category settings.

Or do I miss something here?

I think i found it, this way ...

But there is a powerful option in FLEXIcontent Advanced Route Plugin:

"Hide Categories from Pathway/URLs for Types"

there you can select SPECIFIC content Types that should not have category links added to the pathway,

thus you can easily control the behavior,

e.g.
-- for content Type 'article' you do not get automatic category links
-- for content Type 'product' you do get automatic category links ...

-- Flexicontent is Free but involves a big effort on our part.

FlexiContent is like a huge Swiss Army knife. Sometimes with so man different knives that one doesn't know that they exist... :D

Nevertheless, I tried this but it is not hiding the category in pathway.

Make sure
- plugin is active
- you have selected correct Content Type
- and that the option is enabled (there is a yes no parameter above the drop-down select)
