When I set this module in option "Hide if empty" to NO, it still is hidden if empty. Probably a bug?

cheers

Hello

1. this parameter is not a FLEXIcontent option,
-- FLEXIcontent has no control over it,

2. it is neither a Joomla module manager parameter ?? right ??
--"Hide if empty" i think appears in Advanced module manager extension
... and it controls the removal/skipping of the "container" HTML that contains module output of the module, and does the removal when module return html without text

-- FLEXIcontent will ALWAYS output no HTML if zero items are found, so "nothing" is "hidden" ?
if you speak about the container being zero width then examine the CSS of your column

in short we have no control over this parameter, i think the implementation of this parameter is like this:
a. strip tags
b. remove spaces
if above is zero length then hide container DIVs etc
but for this ask the AUTHOR of the extension

Regards

My bad! You are right, this is a "Advanced module manager extension" option.

My initial goal was to display a message if no FC item was found by the uni content module. Is that possible within the uni content module or do I need to do something in my Joomla template index.php?

hello

in this case you need to duplicate the module template news.php to news2.php

and folder news to news2

and add custom code inside it

something like:

... if items array empty then output something

Thanks, I did that. I just seem not to be able to add the layout specific parameters like "Layout: Carousel" or for me "Layout: locations". How can I achieve this?

Hello

Have you seen the comment, at top of carousel.xml ??
(i copy it below)

<!-- currently unused because J2.5 clears extra parameters during validation, instead this is/must copied inside the module XML file -->

Yes, Joomla module manager does form validation using the module.xml (mod_flexicontent.xml) !!!!!!!!!!

a workaround (but i don't recommend hacking files), is to place the parameters inside mod_flexicontent.xml

and use mytemplate.xml as a backup of your template parameters,

every time you upgrade FC, you need to recopy parameters for mytemplate.xml --> mod_flexicontent.xml

this is a Joomla security feature that results in having this limitation
