Hi, can you tell us what the plans are for Flexicontent for users who are running Joomla 1.5?

I have no plans for updating any of my sites to Joomla 1.7, especially when i see what the plans are for Joomla 2.5 at the start of next year, which is when i would migrate.

Can we expect many of the features from Flexicontent 2.0 in a future Flexicontent version for Joomla 1.5?

mmm, i think version number is confusing.

Actually Flexicontent v2.0 does not have more features than FC v1.5.6

We want to update it to have all features of v1.5.6

Most notably missing are:

-- Incomplete ACL
-- A couple of plugins / modules not yet included or working properly
-- A couple of other new features than are under testing for v1.5.6

Version v1.5.x will be supported for next 2 years

Regards

Also, what do you recommend for people who are running Joomla 1.5 and wish to upgrade to 1.7?

There is the Jupgrader tool that will upgrade sites that are running 1.5, but how will this effect sites with Flexicontent?

I know Flexicontent uses the Joomla content, but what about all of the settings/customization that we have done to flexicontent on our sites??

or is there a way to export/import flexicontent to 1.7?

The flexicontent tables are the same. So if you can upgrade joomla 1.5 to 1.7, the flexicontent will work with only a small amount of adjustments and data/configuration manipulation.

There will be a upgrade option/tool for J1.7.

Although i cannot give a specific date i guess in this month or in October.

You can try now but you will need to do whatever it is required yourself.

Just to clarify, what is your suggestion, stay on 1.5 or upgrade?
