I'm using using v 1.5.4 and Joomla! v 1.5.23.

I am adding a date field and want to set a custom format display option. I'm selecting Date format = Custom format, and using the following: %A, %B %d, %Y

In return on the front-end I am seeting:
YYYY-MM-DD (example: 2011-08-17)

What I want to see is: "Thursday, August 18, 2011"

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Actually, just found a problem. I used your date fix. Now when I go to edit an Item in the back-end I see the following error messages:

Warning: Parameter 2 to plgFlexicontent_fieldsDate::onDisplayField() expected to be a reference, value given in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/hva/libraries/joomla/event/event.php on line 67

And in the date filed, no text box is there. in place is the following error message:

"Please publish the FLEXIcontent fields plugins"

I've checked, the plugins are published.

Another question, I see that there is a 1.5.5 stable version available. I am on 1.5.4. Does the update have the fix built in?

Don't upgrade yet, better wait and upgrade to v1.5.6

Flexicontent field in v1.5.6 has changed a little.

In date.php find line:
Code:
function onDisplayField(&$field, &$item)
and change to
Code:
function onDisplayField(&$field, $item)

and Test
