Image field type -files do not upload

Hello,

My users must be able to submit images from the front end for review. These images must have different required fields based on their content type.

I have created an image field for a custom content item type. When I submit a new item from either the front end or the back end, the image is not uploaded when the item is published. No error is displayed, and the content item appears to post normally but without the image.

I suspect that I may be missing a required PHP component on my server, but I can't find a list of server system requirements and required extensions.

I have looked at many Joomla! component solutions, and FLEXIContent seems to be the perfect fit, if only this image upload problem can be solved.

I am trying to launch the site this month, any help ASAP is appreciated.

Version you use Flexicontent, PHP ?

Also disable flash uploaded in Joomla configuration.

first, try the latest v1.5.6beta1, it has various fixes plus it handles filenames with non-latin characters better.

Thank-you very much for the prompt reply. I installed the version above and verified that Flash uploader was disabled, but the same problem exists. I cleared all content retested. I also tested with Joomla native SEF disabled, as well as SH404SEF installed but disabled.

Here is my system configuration:

PHP 5.3.6
MySQL 5.0.92-community
Joomla! 1.5.23 Stable
Chrome/14.0.835.163
IE 8.0.6

The files do not appear in the joomlaroot/images/stories/flexicontent directory, or any sub-directory of joomlaroot/images.

I am able to upload files via other installed components, specifically the native Joomla article interface, JomSocial 2.2.4, and K2 2.4.1. I am able to do this with SH404SEF enabled, and with Joomfish installed and enabled. I can also upload via FTP and via CPANEL.

Since it is submitting but file not loaded the maybe it is related to filename characters, can you try a file with Latin characters only?

did verify chmod folder ?

The original files were named similarly to 3121_1143764717194_1319775269_30365728_1359_n.jpg. I changed one to test.jpg. Folder permissions are 777 for /images/stories/flexicontent/ (this is odd, since 755 is default for folders on my server)m but this should work.
