Hi, are there plans to have the related field linking to categories not only to items?

I have opened and enhancement issue for this, maybe in v1.5.7 / v2.1

I know that the related field in JC 2.0 is not final yet (still language strings), but I have one more comment. It would be good, if not only the name of the related item could be displayed but also file name and description.

The related item field is finished, the topic is about related categories field which does not exist and could be created from the code of the related items field.

You speak of file name and description? you mean you items have a file fields and you would want the filename to be displayed when you select the item ??????

Sorry for the late reply. x-mas... I believe that I described the problem a little bit misleading. I am using the related item field but the title of the related item is not very descriptive. Displaying the description or a custom field of the related item or just to be able to add a custom label would help to add more information.
