Gzip compression & Flexiaccess [FIX]

Two items, first I am trying to access the article about gzip compression and it returns this error even after I've logged in.

The requested URL /memberships.html&return=YToyOntzOjI6ImlkIjtpOjE2NztzOjM6ImNpZCI7aTowO30= was not found on this server.

From the gest of what the search returns, it appears that the original problem I am trying to research (flexiaccess component not accessible/returns compression error),flexiaccess 1.0 is not compatible with gzip page compression enabled. I'm a little confused by this. Gzip is active on my production site which is using php 5.2.17, zend engine 2.2.0, optimizer 3.3.9, gzip 1.3.5. I have access to Flexiaccess on this site.
My test site is using php 5.3.2, zend engine 2.3.0, gzip 1.3.12 and I have to turn gzip off for flexiaccess to work.

My question is- Is flexiaccess just not compatible with some versions of gzip?

mmm non-compatible? not really ...

There is some invalid non-printable character at the end of file:

administrator/components/com_flexiaccess/toolbar.flexiaccess.html.php

edit this file and go at the end of it,
DELETE all characters after:
?>

After this, flexiaccess Backend should work with Gzip compresion ON

Regards

That did it. I also just found out our current host doesn't have gzip enabled for our site, just zlib, so changing the gzip page compression to on wasn't really doing anything anyway.

Thanks!
