mmm, in v1.5.6, the category view can behave like an author view by appending one or two parameters to the url.

So we have 2 new menu items (see in Menu manager):

FLEXIcontent/category/Author
appends to category view url: &layout=author&authorid=84
FLEXIcontent/category/My Items
appends to category view url: &layout=myitems&authorid=84

username(author)/item count/link to an author items

This list we don't have yet.

As you have pointed out in another POST the new features need documentation: add them to a faq/howto and also include more inline help merged to the FLEXIcontent interface.

Also the documentation of existing features must be completed because it is rather incomplete or little.

For now, the new features can only by found by reading the changelog and or by searching the user interface of FLEXIcontent.

By it is always a trade off more documentation means less time to add new features. We have volunteers here for documentation, i was supposed to coordinate it but i have somewhat neglected it.

How do we implement it? I have filled in the Joomla Contact Manager and the FC authors. How do I get it the author info to show up on my articles? I have found the "author" menu items, but that doesn't display the avatar and contact info per author.

Now we have the ability to assign a FLEXIcontent item as description for the author.

What you suggest makes a lot of sense, i should have thought of this when i was implementing the author manager and frontend author-category layout, we should give ability to display (or link to) joomla contact info or to Community Build user profile ...

We don't have it now at least not in v1.5.6 final (soon to come), but you can create links, read here:

Thanks ggppdk. That worked. It wasn't exactly was I was hoping to do, but I can certainly make use of it.

What I was hoping for was like an author block on every article with avatar, e-mail address, etc. It isn't critical.
