You cannot create menu item "My items"?

If you can create menu item "My items" , try logging with different user accounts (frontend) and also changing language and also resetting any category filters that you have (while you display the My Items in frontend).

Oh, that is a missunderstanding. I could create that "my items" menu item. But what I need is a menu item that links to a category and its items. I can do that but as described earlier the catagory view say "No items available for this category" despite I can clearly see them in the back end and a different category with the exact same parameters (different lang though) works.

I might have figured it out. The language thing is acting funny.

non working setup:

menu: en-GB
menu item: en-GB
category: en-GB
item: en-GB

working setup:

menu: en-GB
menu item: en-GB
category: en-GB
item: all

en-GB is the default lang for the website. When the item is set to "all" it gets displayed in the category view.

This setup works ...
menu: en-GB
menu item: en-GB
category: en-GB
item: en-GB

... when I set Multilingual configuration - Filter category views to NO.

It sounds like the --current-- frontend language is not English?

What is the default language for your site?

Do you have language plugin and language switcher module enabled?

en-GB is default in Back and Front
de-DE is second

Content Languages are okay and each one has a default menu item

language plugin and language switcher module are enabled and work fine, menu associations as well

--current-- frontend language is English, because the search field says "Search..."
