Flexicontent very slow [content plugin issue ?]

I don't know why my flexicontent contents are so slow to display.

I'm using ACESEF and i try to disactivate it but it's the same. I optimized it using CSS and JS Join, minify and compress but it's the same.
Now I use only FlexiModule because before I was using other 3rd extension to display flexicontent. I use cache for everything (not system cache plugin because it crash CB registration)

I've got 636 flexicontent items maybe it's too much for my provider (it's a professional "business OVH" for french people)

I'm using joomla 1.5.25 and flexicontent 1.5.6 RC 1111

here are my link : www.lebellegardien.com/alimentat ... imentation (it's bugging but not lot of items to show)

Another one with a lot of items : www.lebellegardien.com/beaute/an ... els/beaute

thanks

636 item is actually too little , you can have 50000+ without problems.

The problem would be if you try to display more than 50-100 items in a single page of category view (you can have thousands in a single category as long as they are in multiple pages).

Do you do this ?

well this link just have 25 items :
www.lebellegardien.com/beaute/an ... els/beaute and it takes more than 30s !!

What is strange is that during 20s it's waiting without doing anything and then it displays the page with 25 items.

And the time is quite the same if I have 25 or 100 items.

I have to say I'm using Joomlart JA Teline IV template.
I try to do it faster using CS and JS optimization but I don't see differences.

Hello Micker

I've a joomla cache with 10 minutes with files and Flexicontent cache with 3600s and option purge expired files enable

I made others tests disabling into my JAT3 template CS optimization to linked files and JS optimization to Join because using Join, minify and compress for both was slowing my website. I don't understand why it's slower but it's like that. I read everywhere it's faster ???

So now items are normal but categories are always very slow. It waits 30s whithout doing anything and then it displays the page.

thanks

Arnaud,

It seems that Google maps is slowing down the process. Try to remove for a test the google maps module.

hello, grabit

Even if I load a category like this : www.lebellegardien.com/adherents ... rents-ucob ?
Because I don't have google in that category template.

For items i reduce the map to 400x400 and it seems faster. But i will try to desactivate it.

I'm asking me too if it's not the case I've got different categories templates to display like in the link i put on the top and the fact I've got fields into items templates that are empty?

Can it be the fact I'm using multicategory for an item?

thanks

First your version is too old, and not supported, please update!

THEN:

1. Please check which plugins you trigger in category view.

E.g. triggering all content plugins in category view for 25 items, can like be 10-20 times, the time needed for items view, it depends on your plugins

2. Also go to Global Configuration AND MAKE sure you create fields "only when needed"

3. Also do you use universal module with empty fields skip feature? (skipped fields are rendered thus calling CONTENT plugins to create their HTML, you may notice some performance difference there too)

If you don't output fields manually in your templates everything will work. Otherwise place your fields that you use manually in the renderonly position.
