[Fixed r1371] Label of file field always shows: how to hide? was created by Rooney

Hi,
I created a file field and have the problem that the field label always shows in article even if no file is assigned. Jommla 2.5, latest SVN version.

i think you put your field in template position how always label is displaying ...
witch template did you use ?

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.
Like the our support? (for a bug-free FC, despite being huge extension) Like the features? Like the ongoing development and future commitment to FLEXIcontent?

I am using default template of 1367, which was released in a post yesterday. The SVN before showed the same behaviour. Does not matter in which position I put the field (except render only). Label always shows!

Have you checked that "show label" is enabled or disables in field configuration?

Show label is enabled, because otherwise it would not show if a file is assigned to a item.

mmm, i have checked this, one reason for label to show when no file is assigned is if you have some text in the parameters:

- Openning text for Field
- Closing text for Field

e.g. some HTML tags

Please check this, maybe we should not apply these parameters if no value (in our case, no files) have been added

That was the reason. I used opening and closing for ul and li tags to build a list. That's why I could not see, realise this text.

Would be better to at least have the option to not show opening and closed text.
