Category listing by search criteria?

I need to define article "collections" with a menu item. So the result will look exactly like "FlexiContent Category", BUT instead of selecting a category, I will define search criteria.

Is there some way to do this?

This has been asked before, i mean to define filtering values via a menu item, it is in the TODO list.

Another option would be to set a FLEXIcontent module to display for a specific menu item, and use the scoping capabilities it has, even FLEXIcontent module does not have parameter to defining filtering values
