Changelog of new releases

Hi, I want to make a small remark. Using FlexiContent is a big thing. I mean the component takes over total control of item management. For me it is always a big challenge to update my pages to the new version, especially when I could not follow the forum for a while. In the last versions there have been for example some changes that concerned the display in the frontend because features were added or changed because of bug fixes. After (of course a make backups) I update FC is always like a surprise if you look at the page. Never know what to expect...

To cut a long story short. The last announcement with a changelog was published for rc1420. Could you please go back to this habit and release a short overview for the at lease the most important changes?

Thanks!
Rooney

yes you are right we could, actually the changes are always described in detail in the SVN log,

Here: you can see a very detailed list of changes:
code.google.com/p/flexicontent/source/list

plus things are about to freeze and development slow down considerably

i am sorry for the trouble, that is why i responded quickly to bug reports, thank you for helping in making FLEXIcontent better

Regards

Please don't get me wrong. I love FC and the support here is outstanding. Your responses to bugs and features is perfect. I am not criticising, just thinking out loud.

Talking about feature freeze and slowing down development, why not declaring one version as stable, including all fields and templates. For this offering security and important bug fixes would be the maintenance. A second branch could be an experimental version. New templates could be released as add ons and would not be in the stable FC core any more. Same with new fields. For all users that only need the features that are now in FC, this would be perfect. At the moment I have to update because of bugs and perhaps security, which is a challenge for larger pages. Do you know what I mean?

Yes, yes i meant what you describe, slow down new features and only correct bugs / security issues

about release feature separately, like templates and new fields yes are right here too, this a good thing since after testing can be added to the CORE.

e.g. the new calendar template by Andrew and Rehne we ll added as a separate download
