Display of accociated articles (translation groups)

Hi, I am using the translation group feature of FlexiContent and native Joomla language switching. I have many articles and original and translation are not in the same category. Normally I am using the title filter to quickly change an article. Is there a way to display not only the German main article for example but also the whole translation group? Even if the let's say English title does not match the search filter? Would make work flow much easier.

You mean the frontend author/editor to have easy access to them?

Hmm, no. I guess my explanation was misleading.

It is about the actual display of the translation groups. I have duplicated the category hierarchy for the second language to be able to translate category titles and other settings without using a third party language components. So the associated articles German/English are in different categories. The display of the language groups in the article overview in backend (I am only working in the backend) is therefore totally useless because there is no filter I can use. Category filter does not work (by the way, adding category translation groups would make FlexiContent THE component for multilingual pages!). Filtering the title is useless because the English title does not match the German one.

What I do now is to display all articles and use the browser search function to search for the German article and then I can see the corresponding English article.

If you do not enable any filters and you click to sort the translation group column ??

Yes, but I have more then 500 articles. How do I find the right (German) one? Normally I either search for the title or I select the category where the article is in. Both disables the translation group filter!

So when sorting via translation group column and filtering via a category the items translation associated with items of the category should be displayed too

Well, this would be nice. I mean for only two languages this might not be necessary but imagine maintaining four or more languages or having content in languages like Russian or Chinese... I would be lost to find the corresponding article...

Again, I believe that using the in-built Joomla multi-language system together with FC and perhaps some enhancements like duplicating a language and keeping assignments the same time, makes FC one of the best "translation" components!

Easier multi-language is a priority,

1. Will change translation grouping to work with category (and other filtering ?)

2. will add ACL privilege to associate content from different authors

3. (For next FC version), language associations for categories too

4. (For next FC version), we also have an implementation for automatic Google translating when saving new items translation via duplication, but we need to use a free google translation library, and we have not done this yet

Well, for me title search and category would be enough! I guess a global approach would be better.

I would be happy to test it on my company site!
