This is not a problem, Joomla associations will be imported and maintained easily,

but we need to check what they do about content item in site's default language !!!

to have common behavior !!!

so since this is done for J3.0 , we might do a behavior change for current FLEXIcontent version, i will check

This may be of interest:

IN r1469:
+ Added 2 new ACL privileges:

(a) Edit field value ACL permission e.g. for subscription sites, where specific fields are editable by some user groups only

(b) Associate any translation ACL permission, for site that have different
authors per language
