RSS Feed error

I do not know if the topics are related.

RSS: I put the RSS link in the Joomla Feed Module and it gives me the error that the feeds could not be loaded.

Bad links: Go to the page, click to switch to English and then open DIRECTLY an existing German link e.g.: www.muenstermann.com/dokumenten- ... iften.html

On a 'normal' Joomla page you will get an 404 error, with FC a member function error. (we are discussing the reason why FC does not also give an 404 error in a different thread: flexicontent.org/forum/index.php ... =viewtopic )

So I think there must be a Joomla bug that one cannot go directly to pages in a different language!

i understand now, yes this is not related to Flexicontent

yes this a known problem occurring when
1. user has started a joomla session by visiting the site (logged or unlogged session)
2. and you click on a bookmarked link that has no language code and is containing the alias of a menu item in a different language

I don't know how to workaround this BUT if your home page is a FLEXIcontent page then maybe it is possible to add code to FLEXIcontent router to set a different menu item and redirect ???

About rss feed you say that they are from joomla RSS feed module , where is this module displayed i don't see it, (or please remind me, does this module only adds hidden RSS link at the page head?)

Regards

I put a feed module on a different page that I am currently developing. Actually I also had one at www.mn-filtration.com (still Joomla 1.5, disabled the module) and this stopped working. The new page is Joomla 2.5. Both pages without FC. The module displays RSS feeds from other pages. It always worked!

I see that RSS links work if you add to them correct language code, in general they work if the menu item matches the current language

The module that is producing them (standard joomla rss feed module??) is not adding current language code?

Hi, I am using the standard Joomla module. I am also adding the language code. Joomla 2.5 has the option to dump the language code for the standard language (de). The English code is added.

I found a solution for the feed problem. I am using the normal Joomla path without rewriting in the module: www.muenstermann.com/index.php?o ... d&type=rss

This works.

Hello,

-- there is such an option to disable rewriting in the module ?

-- or made a module template override?

No. What I meant is that I disabled rewriting on the original page to see what the "real" Joomla address of the menu FC category view is and put this as RSS source into the module on the other page!
