Re-create duplicated templates?

Hi,

I have a simple question.
Let's assume that new FC version came out with some fix(like HTML) for built-in templates(blog). If I install new version, Should I duplicate it for existing templates?
Or will existing templates be automatically updated along with installation?

FLEXIcontent built-in templates are always updated,

the templates that are not updated, are the copies of them, that you might have made,

e.g. in current version of blog template their is a bug in regards to using image/gallery field in folder-mode as blog template category layout's image

this will be fixed when you update,

but if you have made copies of blog template these will not be updated

I see, that is why I am having different looking each other even if same CSS loaded.

I think it is helpful if you could add version of template in backend so we know which templates are older one compare to core templates.

NOTE:

(a) Responsive templates:
-- next months FLEXIcontent template HTML/CSS will become "responsive" (hopefully)
to mobile browser and to mobile screen resolutions (mobile) and to need of bigger button (touch screens)


(b) Mobile Browser / Screen Resolution Detection:
-- also already finished some detection of mobile browser and/or screen resolution to allow using alternative "mobile" Layout (this can be optional used in templates that are not (a) )

We also have this idea to avoid duplicating templates uncessary :

-- allow multiple configuration per template !!
thus if you do not plan to change template files but only want a different fields positioning , then you will not have to copy/duplicate the template files !!!!

That sounds really great.
But still some of them including me need duplicating template feature.
Maybe instead of display version, just make old template title to red color.

I have one more question. Is new version coming with field range in category filter?
I can not launch my website without this feature.

I am currently using Shape5 responsive template.
Means that all of FC contents are displaying in responsive.
Will there be any confliction?

This is not appropriate/possible, since there is no checkable criteria to characterize duplicated/copied/custom templates as old.

Yes , there will be an experimental build during holidays
