show category in the list of category in an article

hello
I'm developping a library website.
the category tree is the following

level 1 - Books
level 2 - Children
level 3 - Comics
level 3 - Novel
level 3 - Baby
level 3 - ...

level 2 - Novels
level 2 - Politics
level 2- History
level 2- ...
level 1 - Newspaper
level 2 - Magazines
level 2 - Catalogs
level 2 - Daily
level 2 - ...

An article is the technical description of a book or a newspaper.

For each article the main category is the most detailed level and the secondary categories are the level above the detailed one.

For instance : Tintin au Congo is a Comics (main category) and belongs to Children and Books as secondary categories.

So I can give a Category page for the comics books, for the children books and for the whole books library.


In the Article page, is it possible when I display in which category a book belongs to display only some category : in the example I want to get the comics and the children one but not the book's one ?

Currently you can exclude a category from appearing (as links) in frontend views (will still display in item forms and in menu item selections, and in module configuration) via selecting it as "unroutable" in advanced Route plugin.

This way you can define special categories that you do not want to show to frontend displays e.g. categories:
- frontpage, featured1, feautured2, left_slideshow, etc
