How I can realise category selection with pictures?

Hy, Flexicontent is a super tool, but i have a little problem.

I want to realise a category selection by pictures like on this website (Apple/Blackberry/HTC/...):

And the subcategorys as a selectlist (HTC::example).

Has somebody an idea?

it realy simple
on first level of category (apple ...)use image for categorie and only display it (nothing in description and use 0 in number of item)
for subcategorie use a default template(like table) and use filter
..

1. for subcategories of category view,
we implemented -AFTER- r1601
a. is prefix/suffix/separator/open tag/close tag
b. image and description support

so that people can create customized sub-category listings

This is already on SVN (r1617+) but to use you must checkout from SVN or wait for next public package

Hy,

I was sucessful by creating the category selection with pictures in the category view. But i have a little problem.

I set a menü button with the category view and use pictures as links. But flexicontent shows the subcategorys of the root category as links.

Here is a view of my problem:

It is possible to hide this links in the category view and if yes, how?

I used 0 in number of item in Apple (category) but this is not solving my problem.

In menu item parameters (enable category parameters override) or in category parameters,

Go to item list creation , and in parameter
-- "show subcategory items" set it to "No"

Also did you try menu item for "Directory" too ?

yes, the last picture is from directory menue item. (Directory view)
but there is no point with - hide subcategorys.

I thought you installed latest from SVN and tried the new parameter for subcategories in category view,

-- also latest revision has support for multiple category display,
by a new category layout (mcats) and
by a new menu item

now we have 4 layouts for category view:
- default (single category listing)
- author (author listing)
- myitems (current user items)
- mcats (multiple categories listing)

yes i installed the latest SVN on joomla 2.5.

this is the only one function which i miss.
the support for multiple category display by creating a new menu link is very useful.
but it shows each subcategory and the only function is to hide the empty subcategorys.

(Menu Link with directory view of flexicontent and multiple categorys, (subcategorys of categorys are also displayed, no possibility to hide them)
