filtering prices in search values

hello
In the search criteres I'm using I want the use a field which contains a price.

I want to use this critere as filter
for instance

art 1 : price 100
art 2 : price 150
art 3 : price 2000
art 4 : price 10000

Is it possible to get the following filter value

1 - < 1000
2 - >1000 and < 5000
3 - > 5000

1 would give the art 1 and art 2
2 would give the art 3
3 would give the art 4

I have thought about asking the user who enter the values in the form to give manually the prices categorie but I can't check that the category given by the user is the corresponding one to the real price.

Price=>50-200-NoMax-NoMin-StepBy5

Price is Text Field.
50-200 is Range of Price
NoMax and NoMin is available if you want to add Greater or Less then Selected Price.
StepBy5 Slider is increased/decreased by 5

Will the filter enhancement answer the problem of group of prices or does the Extended filter Module needed

we added parameter for defining filter values via specifying elements OR via a custom query !!!

-- you could use custom filter values and display field as a drop-down select range (2 select fields)
but i see now that a parameter to specify that value in numeric is missing i will add

-- to use single drop down select or toggle buttons with grouping this is currently only supported for date field, which group into years or months or days
