Field : Max Text Length doesn't work

Hello,

In field type "text" and "text area" parameters, the option "Max Text Length" doesn't work for me.

For example, if I put the value 10, I have to expect that only 10 characters could be write in the field, and no more.
But despite this value, I can still add more than 10 characters in the field, and when I submit the forms, all characters displays on content, even if there is more than 10.

Is it a bug ?
Or maybe I don't understand the function of this parameter.

There is no option to limit maximum text length, the option you see must be under social site support and limit the length of text given(=suggested) to the social website for the purpose of linking to a page of your site.

So I misunderstood this parameters.

For text field, you can also put some html code as I can see, so it will break the line too.

Never mind, I'll do without it.
