move to a new domain and "files" are broken!

Hi

I just moved a domain from one domain (say a beta subdomain) to another domain and All the old "Files" are broken both in the "Files" section and in the linked items. Clicking on the download link brings this error:

FLEXI_REQUESTED_FILE_DOES_NOT_EXIST_ANYMORE

Files are already in the files/media folder(I Can see and download them) and I haven't changed the folder names/settings.

But Newly uploaded files have no problem and they are uploaded in the same folder that old files are present.


ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated

Hello,
the obvious reason is that the path of the files is wrong,
-- i would suggest that you check the folder permissions but since you can download files then the reason is most likely wrong path

-- In Component configuration
under TAB "options"
under parameter SECTION "Files Configuration"
find 2 parameters:
Path to secure files folder
Path to media files folder

1. To correct files field
edit Path to secure files folder

2. To correct minigallery field
edit Path to media files folder

3. To correct image/gallery field
goto to image/gallery field configuration and correct the thumbnails parameter

NOTE: all paths are relative compared to your joomla ROOT folder
e.g. for path
/home/users/mysite/httpdocs/images/stories/flexicontent
enter
images/stories/flexicontent

THANKS AGAIN for your kind reply,

On both sites the files setting is:

Path to secure files folder /imgs/files/books
Path to media files folder /imgs/files/media

and the "imgs" folder is in my Joomla! root folder(where all other Joomla folders reside.

the books and media folders are 0755 and files(mostly PDF and doc) are 0644.

I tried to remove the first / from the path in new domain, no success.

It' very strange and I rechecked everything everywhere.

And again I really thank your GREAT and lightning fast support.

please send me a PM with admin access and the ids of the fields that have issue and the id of single item that in edit form shows the problem
