Multiple featured categories

Is this functionality going to be implemented anytime soon?
There is a promise "NOTE: v1.5.6 / v2.0 final, we have add a flag in category configuration to mark it as featured, and make it appear as CHECKBOX in the item form. Thus it will be easier to assign these categories to items"
Did i missed this in category configuration or it is not there yet?

What is planned is :

1. to make easier to selected them in item form, because now in item form , you need to find them in the category list and CTRL-click to select them
e.g. if you have 5 of them we will present them as 5 checkboxes

2. we want to add extra CSS classes to the items to make them more easily customized
e.g.
using the CSS class one could display an image to the title of an item in a listing , e.g. "Best-Value" etc

I was referring the same FAQ. It is saying version 2.0 final should have this functionality to have category as a checkbox, but it is not there yet right?
Just checking if i missed the setting, because i was searching it in the last couple of releases.
