XML output for items?

Hello,

We are currently building a mobile app for a client and we would like to be able to generate an xml output of the items within a category that includes the values or display of specific fields.

I know categories generate RSS feed for items but this doesn't work for us because the xml doesn't include separate/individual fields (or at least we don't know how we could include them).

Is there a way to create a custom raw view that can generate an xml output with the items in a category including all or some of its fields? Or do you know of a plugin or component that can do this from the frontend dynamically?

Thank you!

hello
you can use flexi import by netassopro ;)

FLEXIcontent is Free but involves a very big effort on our part.

Unfortunately that component only allows to export "on demand" from the backend.

What we are looking is something that is accessible from the frontend with a public URL.

Is this something you may want to add to your future features? It would be great if it could be similar to the current idea of templates, allowing us to setup the raw output as we wish and populate it with the info from category and items.

Hello another member did this , if i remember correctly the way i suggested was (for developers):

-- in folder components/com_flexicontent/views/category/

duplicate file:
view.feed.php (or view.html.php)

to make a file
view.xml.php

then link to the new view like this:

index.php?option=com_flexicontent&view=category&cid=444&type=xml&format=raw

then inside your file view.xml.php output RAW XML

Regards
