Saving files above document root in FC 2.x

Hi ggppdk,

I tried to alter the secure documents path to a folder above the document root according to your former post:
www.flexicontent.org/forum/index.php?f=2...b_v=viewtopic#p23711

I cannot get this to work in FC r1680. My changes are not accepted when I save the configuration.

What's wrong?

Hello,
the folder is normally protected from URL direct access via .htaccess file that is created by FLEXIcontent installation (which you should copy/move if you move the folder)

I can understand that you want extra protection,

What is the problem
1. the parameter is not saved
2. or the file manager/ file field ignore it?

... this must be another issue: I'm not able to save the configuration at all.

Just checked and adjusted the server config hints in

www.flexicontent.org/documentati ... tions.html

... but without success.

Upon save the fc config tab view changes to the joomla configuration view.

Maybe an access issue? But where?

Hello,
about saving configuration

you need (for .htaccess in you site root):
php_value max_input_vars value 5000

Please set the above and also the othe variables mentioned here:

Hi ggppdk,

updating php values accordingly was what I had done just before, but within the global php.ini.

If I put php_values within .htaccess, I get a "server misconfiguration" error
(log entry: localhost suhosin[24627]: ALERT - configured POST variable limit exceeded - dropped variable 'jform[rules][flexicontent.publishownfile][13]' (attacker '<ip of my telecom provider>', file '/var/www/vhosts/<my domain>/httpdocs/administrator/index.php').

Checked this again, but no luck with saving :?

You mean that this:
php_value max_input_vars value 5000

is causing an error in your server?

please contact the support service of your provider: the limit 5000 is rather moderate
