Hi,

I'm using FLEXIcontent 2.0.2 r1680 with Joomla 1.5.26.

I created a FLEXIcontent Directory menu item for a specific category that lists all the subcategories.

Right now I have no clue haw the categories are sorted and I'd like to change that to use the order in the backend.

Thanks for your help.

Hello
in the menu parameters:
- under slider "Basic Options"
- you have the parameters:
a. Categories Configuration/Category List Order
b. Subcategories Configuration/Category List Order

I have already tried that, no luck yet. Still listing in alphabetical order. If I chose reverse, still no change. Is there a setting somewhere else that could override the menu settings?

Thanks.

Hello,

Did you try setting the category ordering to

"Category ordering Attribute" this will order the categories the same way that they appear in backend,

a question do other parameters appear to work, e.g. if you change the show hide category image or category description parameters?

I'm still trying to resolve this.

I have upgraded to FLEXIcontent CCK v2.1.0 r1781 for J1.5.

I have a menu item FLEXIContent Directory that lists the subcategories of a parent category.

I tried all the order settings in the menu item and in the parent category settings and nothing ever changes. The order is weird, seems reversed alpha like this:

Az
Aa
Bz
Ba
Cz
Ca
...

Since I seem to be the only one with this problem, I probably changed something at some point and I'm unable to find out what.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello

this is happening:

1. You have the J1.5 with Joomfish installed, after you change ANY parameter in configuration of categories or MENU ITEMs, etc, then you must go to Joomfish , find the menu item for English translation, edit it, setting the parameters again !!!

2. If you set ordering to be "Alphabetic" then this is done for French category titles via SQL DB query, so the translations of English may not appear to "Alphabetical"
e.g. French "Anglophones Quebec" but English translation is "Quebec anglophones"

3.
whoever created this,
has created a Joomla template overridde to overcome the above, the override forces a Alphabetical ordering via PHP code (original was done in SQL query for french titles)
Overridden file is:
templates/icrml.ca/html/com_flexicontent/flexicontent/default_categories.ph

4. You are not loading FLEXIcontent CSS and you have a Joomla template override, some of the setting of the menu may be ignored e.g. number of columns will be ignored

the above was really tough, 4 different things related to give this effect, please read carefully

Regards
