Hi,
during translation there is the option to import Joomfish data. How does this actually work and what are the requirements...?
I tried it and it just copied the original article.

Hello,

-- this feature imports from table '#__jf_content' of the J1.5 version,

-- you tried it in J2.5, right ?
if so note it should work only if you upgraded from a J1.5 site

it is not meant for Joomfish article associations of J2.5 version ...
there are 3 kind of translating associations
1. FLEXIcontent J1.5/J2.5 item associations
2. Joomfish J2.5 article associations
3. J3.x article associations

***********************************************
Upcoming FLEXIcontent versions will do:
***********************************************

a. Synchronize with J2.5 article associations and J3.x article associations
b. Support import from Falang J2.5/J3.x (db table #__falang_content) or (possible already) J1.5 Joomfish upgraded sites (db table #__jf_content)

NOTE: to do (b) is rather easy just change the table name in existing code

So in your case you tried in an J2.5 site to import Joomfish J2.5 associated translation OR did you try to import OLD joomfish data from a J1.5->J2.5 upgrade ?

in second case it should have worked

Hi,
I tried to import new ones!
Do you know that importing could be a killer feature for FC? Jommfish development is more or less dead. I'll post in the Joomfish tomorrow because the import function could be the only working migration tool, for old Joomfish pages!!!

Hello,
please test importing a J1.5 upgraded site, in which you have not install J2.5 Joomfish

-- also Falang import (for articles) will be in v2.0.3, you may still need Falang for other stuff,

-- also do we have places where we should allow "language filtering ?" e.g. category titles , or even category descriptions

Hi,

I've been trying out flexicontent because Rooney mentioned it in the Joomfish forum. I hoped that it would migrate my old translations to the new joomla.

Unfortunately the import doesn't seem to really work.

I did the following steps:

1) I upgraded the site from j1.5 to j.2.5 with jupgrade.

2) Installed the Croatian language pack again (jupgrade leaves only English)

3) I assigned Croatian as the default language to all articles (after the upgrade the default is "All")

4) In the database - I made a copy of the two joomfish tables - #_jf_content and #_jf_tableinfo, with the same prefix as the j2.5. installation.

5) I installed Flexicontent 2.0.2 r1680.

6) I selected an article and clicked on "translate". I selected to import joomfish data, for English.

==> result: Flexicontent creates a new article, with the correct English language flag, but it only copies Croatian content into it.

It doesn't seem to actually be loading any joomfish data.

I'm guessing that the import function is either not behaving as intended, or I am missing some steps in the procedure perhaps? I don't know, what do you think could be wrong?

Hello,

this feature was tested in J1.5 version

in J2.5 version the line is probably not matched, due to changed language id
