Just wondering if anyone has any insight on how best to setup a reviews website with a review breakdown at the bottom or top of the article eg:

gfx - 5
sounds-5
gameplay:5

overall:5

as in

uk.gamespot.com/the-last-of-us/

v2.0.2 already allows multiple types of voting
-- Overall
-- and (custom) secondary, named as you like:
e.g. Quality, Speed, Endurance, ...


Plus v2.0.3 (coming soon) adds:
1. Access Level for being able to submit voting: e.g. Public, e.g. Registered or other

2. Voting Resolution and number of stars:
Explanation:
The number of displayed stars, Joomla's built-in is also 5.
EXAMPLES:
-- 10 stars with half star voting, set Resolution: 20, Stars 10
-- 5 stars with quarter star voting, set Resolution: 20, Stars: 5
-- 10 stars with one star voting, set Resolution: 10, Stars: 10


The above is about voting.
About review, well that is somewhat more complicated, you can relate a CONTENT TYPE called "review" to other Content items via the relation field,

... so far, all good, but now comes the problem

-- currently there is no user friendly way to PRESELECT the content item to be reviewed


- user will have to select which item to review AFTER clicking to submit review,

... a future version will allow placing links inside the content item to post "related items" e.g. reviews without the user having to select the related item ...

I am not sure what you mean inside ,
voting is a FLEXIcontent field , thus it can be displayed at any FLEXIcontent template position within the article , go to FLEXIcontent template manager and click to edit the item layout of any template and you will see the available positions (all templates except for item layout of blog template) use the modular item layout

I think i misunderstood the first reply sorry about that :oops:
how would i go about the multiple types of voting?
And
could i make this a static vote, by that i mean the person writing the review/article sets the amount of stars that they gave the item being reviewed not have members alter the scoring

-- Voting field is displayed inside the Content Item e.g. "product" not inside the review, review would be independent content

-- also the extra voting types are configured inside the configuration of voting field
