Sort by user field?

Sort by user field? was created by yayramen
Coming from K2, so far I'm in love with flexicontent, but the biggest feature I'm looking for is to be able to sort by user fields.

For example, I'm building a database site. So I made a new type named "Dragons", and then gave it the custom fields "type","location","rarity", etc. Those are all select list fields.

I was wondering if it was possible to show all items where the custom field "rarity" was equal to "common", for example. Any extension/module I should be looking at, or is this still not possible?

Hello,

1. Our are category (content-list) filters are able to appear as (please configure this in each field)
a. drop-down select (single value)
b. drop-down select (multi value)
e. dual drop-down select (RANGE)
b. checkboxes (also selecting multiple values)
c. radio
d. text input
e. dual text input (RANGE)

2. These filters can also appear in a filtering module

3. Our filter are fully FACETED
a. they show an item count and
b. also values that are not available appear disabled

4. The content-listings that are based on category model: category, multi-category, my-items, author view, can have Persistent or Initial filter values SET via their 2 parameters in their menu items

Also you may want to use:
v2.1.0 RC1 (r1704)
it is stable, has many minor bugfixes and some exciting new features (!!):

I did update to the version recommended, but I find myself still no closer to being able to display all items with a certain custom field value.

Hello,

1. Edit the desired field to select how filter should appear
2. Go to Component Settings and set the desired filters under the TAB "Content Lists", this will effect all categories that have selected none filters , if you want you can go to a category and select different filters than those globally configured

then goto frontend and view the category

please post a picture of the configuration of the above

Okay, in the field edit form, I have "filter" set to "yes" under both "Content List" and "Advanced Search". And under the configuration for the filter, I have it set to "single select field".

And then in Content List Filter Module, I have it all set up, but I get a form on the page asking me to select a value.

Which is only halfway to what I want, I want it to automatically display the type, so I can have a menu link for each value in the custom field, rather than one page with a select list.

If that makes sense.

Hello,

try not using the module and instead use the category menu item

set the desired value in the persistent filter value

(note you do not need to enable the parameter "override category configuration", the persistent OR initial filters are applied anyway)
