how does menu item override work?

I have a category that is supposed to use the "items-tabbed" template which is set in the menu item overrides, but the category still takes the template defined in the category setup. What am I missing? thx

did you enable parameter "override category parameters" ?

thx for the quick reply. Enabling that solved it. But it is very much not obvious that this option effects ALL parameters and not only the ones in "Basic". I think this must be reworked because the current setup confuses even the experienced users IMHO.

-- the slider says "enable override here" with green letters,
-- the "override" letter in all sliders are green
-- the description of the parameter says it,


Maybe there is some thing more to do there:
like try to add code to disable the sliders when parameters is OFF,

but other than the above we really tried to make it obvious, in fact many, many hours and headaches went into revising parameters structure, and add extra code to allow restructuring parameters while maintaining compatibility,

more improvements about this are done in the upcoming version along with exciting new features
