I guess it is almost possible to create web application with Joomla and Flexicontent.

The only concern is Joomla allows us to create ARTICLEs only.
If we could create RECORDs(Set of FC fields) under TYPE or category then we can create web applications easily.

For example, without article title, language and so on.

Is it possible to create TYPE that doesn't include core fields like Title, Categories, Created(by), Modified(by), Document Type, Description and so on.
I will only need FC fields.

e.g. Order detail DB TABLE
Order_ID, Order_Date, Order_code, Order_Name, Company_Code, Order_Quantity, Dispatch, Person_In_Charge

I need to create a frontend item form to insert records.(very simple form)
In record list view, each record should be editable and removable as well.

With current FlexiContent only allow us to organize Articles.

Hope we could create database-driven web application with FC in future.

Hello,

code could be added to hide these in item form by giving them a default value or an auto-generated value,

that is for a future consideration / implementation

Well, article title can not be hidden..

Right now, Flexicontent allow us to create content type as an "ARTICLE".

I am talking about different content type, "Data Table" or "Record Set"..not an article.

Basically, create new content type "Data Table" and re-use existing FC fields to create a frontend item form.
Users will be able to insert record.
We can duplicate template to get appropriate result on display.

We can create Web applications for any kind of business. :)

Hello,

if no records are entered in com_content, then can you imagine how much code will have to be updated ??
in listing these, searching these using them in modules, etc ??

maybe it would be better to:
1. Define "default values" AND auto-generated values
for fields of these content types
2. Hide specific field of them in the item form
