Breadcrumb path creation again

Hi, I updated to the latest 1778 version of FC and discovered that the breadcrump creation changed. I do not know when or with which version it happened but it definitely changed.

You will see "Information" in the breadcrump path. This is the category title. Why is it added? If you now click on information, you will see a directory view. So, many unwanted and senseless links are created. Why is not just the menu item used?

you have 2 options:

- show current menu tree path
- show the category tree leading to current item (if you have enabled automatic pathways parameter in Content Type parameters (overrides component params) )

what is the case for this page ?

Hi, sorry I am lost. How am I able to setup either of the options? Doesn't matter what I setup in the FC settings: I am getting a mixture of both (still different)!

the parameter "Create pathway automatically" controls this:
1. if OFF then breadcrumbs contains:
the menu chain to current menu item
(optionally current category name or current content item title is appended)

2. if ON then breadcrumbs contains:
the sub-category tree path that leads to current category or to current item


The parameter "Create pathway automatically" exists

a. in Component settings under first TAB options
(effecting all views)

b. and it can be overriden in
category settings,
OR
in Content Type/Item settings

Changed it to Off. Not working. Please see here:

This is a pure menu tree. "Deutsche Seiten -> Trocknungs- und Thermoprozessanlagen -> Aktuelle und interessante Projekte Thermoprozessanlagen" are categories.
The category settings are "Use global" and global is off.

when the parameter OFF , then FLEXIcontent does not tamper with the breadcrumb pathway and thus it is controlled by the breadcrumb module and not by FLEXIcontent.

What FLEXIcontent does is possibly append the parent category up to a limit:
the limit is the depth parameter in the menu item
(please read popup description)

e.g. if depth is 6
and breadcrumb module has already added 3 entries
-- then FLEXIcontent will append the 2 nearest parent categories and the item title,

this will give a total of pathway depth 6=3 + 2(parent cats) + 1 (item title)
