FlexiContent & Falang

Hi Guys,

Nice to be back among the FlexiContent team now that FC is available for Joomla 3.1 :D Thank you very much for this very big work achieved and new features available for Joomla 3.1, very much appreciated.

Just because FC is now available for Joomla 3.1, we are redeveloping our website from scratch with FC. We are having a small issue though, we are using FC together with Falang, we followed the documentation to configure FC to work with Falang, we have also installed the Falang content elements for FC.

Step 1 - Create a group for article and assign this group to all.
Step 2 - Create an article and assign it to all as well, provide translation for English and French, current languages available on our website.

Now, created a menu link to FC single item and assign article to this menu item, when going to frontend, getting a 404 error when going to this page!

I guess we have made a mistake in the configuration somewhere, therefore, some hints and guidelines would be welcomed. If there is a tutorial or much more detailed documentation to make these two working together, that would be even better please.

About Falang,

you can edit ALL falang translations inside the item FORM via tabs having Language name

our FAQ article about FALANG may not be 100% up to date, so this maybe a chance to update it

1. NOTE: that extra fields are not possible to update when using FALANG, use the Joomla way (1 article per language to be able to translate the extra fields)

2. Place the site on an online server and send me a PM with
- frontend URL of the menu item,
- the of the menu item
- the ID of a FLEXIcontent item

this is probably a configuration issue, e.g. when using Falang you should set the language of your items to 'ALL'

Regards

Hi,

Sorry for this late reply, the initial 404 error was not due to FC nor to Falang but a wrong configuration in our .htaccess file, after correcting this, the 404 error was solved.

Thanks for the support and information. We may mark this topic as solved now.
