New features in FC V1798

Hello,
I have read this on SVN page for v1798 download :

Added download coupons creation and usage e.g. now used when sharing download links to non-priveleged users via email (optionally enabled via file field parameter)

Is there any tutorial or documentation on how to create coupons?

To generate a unique identifier is easy the problem is what do you want to do it after it.

I want to print advertising coupon when clicking on an advertisement (each advert is a FC article).

Hello

1. the download coupons allow a user that has no access to a file to download it,
when he receive a download link that has a coupon

2. the download coupon are currently created ONLY by enabling it in file field parameter FOR:
- sharing this download links

e.g. you enabled both (a) share and (b) create download coupons in a FILE field
then a logged user that has access to the file, shares the download link , thus he/she send a link that include a coupon

3. You can set (now only in file field) a download limit e.g. coupon will be used 3 times before it expures and a maximum time e.g. 15 days before the coupon expires

-- if you look at file field you will see the new parameters and descriptions

-- in future download coupons maybe used elsewhere
-- there is a download history logging (it is smart it will not create big tables), e.g. if you sell your files you will now how many times every user downloaded a file, and when last download was done,
... all guest users are logged a single user (with id 0)
These statistics will appear in file manager in a near future version
